What is changing?

In 2020, G Suite became Google Workspace as part of a mass reorganisation of the company’s apps for the “future of work.” Various plans were migrated over, and Google is now planning to transition the G Suite legacy free edition to Google Workspace as well.

Why is this important?

After getting free Gmail, Drive, Docs, and other apps for the past several years, companies will need to choose a paid Google Workspace subscription to keep using Google services and the ability to use their own custom domain.

All companies need to switch until June 1 or alternatively Google will start automatic transition after 1st of May and make the change to Google Workspace, which you can use at no cost until August 1, 2022. After August 1st all customer accounts without a valid payment method will be suspended.
